Mr Ribis, after clarinet degree, began his singing training at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (Florence) with Claudio Desderi then at Accademia Chigiana in Siena and Accademia Arena di Verona with Raina Kabaivanska. At the present moment his vocal coach is baritone Carlo Meliciani.

Mr Ribis won both Eurobottega (as Guglielmo in Così fan tutte under the baton of Peter Maag) and Spoleto international competitons. He was then invited to sing Gugliemo in Giorgio Strehler’s production of Così fan tutte for Piccolo Teatro Milan, performed in Italy (Rome), Spain (Festivals of Perelada and Santander), Germany (Wiesbadener Maifestspiele), Greece (Athens), Russia (Moscow and San Petersburg) and Japan (Tokyo). In the meanwhile he appeared in major Italian opera houses, including Venice Teatro La Fenice (Ottokar in Der Freischütz), Parma Teatro Regio (Moralés in Carmen) and Verona Teatro Filarmonico (Don Giovanni and Danilo in The merry widow).

Most recent performances include two world premieres: the critic acclaimed Obra Maestra by G. Mancuso in Spoleto and Il tempo sospeso del volo by N. Sani at REC Festival in Reggio Emilia. In 2008 he sang Der Vampyr (Robert Green) by H. Marschner (conducted by Roberto Abbado and directed by Pierluigi Pizzi) for Teatro Comunale Bologna season opening. In 2009 he was Dancaire in Carmen at Teatro dell’Opera Rome (with Elina Garanca in the title role) and debuted at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in La Traviata (D’Obigny).

HIghlight of last two seasons include Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte at Teatro Massimo Bellini Catania; L'hôtelier in Manon by J. Massenet at Teatro dell’Opera Rome directed by Jean-Louis Grinda; 1st Soldier in Salome by R. Strauss in Robert Carsen production and Don Prudenzio in Il viaggio a Reims at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino; Handsome in The girl of the Golden West at Teatro Massimo Palermo and at Opernhaus Zürich; Ceprano in Rigoletto at Opéra Montecarlo.

Among next engagements: Jakob Lenz by W. Rihm at Teatro Comunale in Bologna and Baron Douphol in La Traviata at Opéra Montecarlo.
